JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) is a national level engineering entrance exam in India. It is conducted in two stages - JEE Main and JEE Advanced - for admission to undergraduate engineering courses in Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), and other centrally funded technical institutions (CFTIs).
Age Limit : There is no age limit to appear for JEE Main.
Educational Qualification : Passed class 12 or equivalent examination from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
Minimum Marks : Minimum of 75% marks (65% marks for SC/ST/OBC and PwD candidates) in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
Attempts : Candidates can appear for JEE Main for a maximum of 3 consecutive years.
Exam Mode : The exam is conducted in online (computer-based).
Sections : There are three sections Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.
Questions :There are 75, and the maximum marks are 300.
Marking Scheme :4 marks for correct answer, -1 mark for each incorrect MCQ answer.
Performance in JEE Main : Only the top 2.5 lakh candidates from JEE Main are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced.

Types of Questions : consists of both multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and numerical answer type questions (NATs).
Marking Scheme : +4 marks for a correct answer and -1 for an incorrect answer. For NATs, +4 marks for a correct answer.
The JEE syllabus is based on the NCERT curriculum of class 11 and 12. The questions asked in the exam are of multiple-choice type (MCQs) Candidates are advised to go through the syllabus thoroughly and focus on the important topics to score well in the exam.
